    Mangifera indica is 10-20 meters tall and has grayish-brown bark and brown twigs, glabrous. The shape and size of the leaves vary greatly, usually oblong or oblong-lanceolate, 12-30 cm long, 3.5-6.5 cm wide, drupes large, 5-10 cm long, 3-4.5 cm wide, yellow when ripe, mesocarp fleshy, thick, bright yellow, sweet, hard pits, born in the forests of mountain slopes, river valleys or wilderness at an altitude of 200-1350 meters.
