  • Introduction
    Prunus mume is 4-10 m tall, the bark is light gray or greenish and smooth, and the twigs are green, smooth and glabrous. Leaves ovate or elliptic, 4-8 cm long, 2.5-5 cm wide, apex caudal pointed, base broadly wedge-shaped to rounded, leaf margins often with small sharp serrations, gray-green, pubescent on both sides when young, gradually shed when growing, or pubescent only between the axils of the lower veins, flowers solitary or sometimes 2 flowers born together in 1 bud, 2-2.5 cm in diameter, fragrant, open before leaves, peduncle short, about 1-3 mm long, often glabrous, fruit nearly spherical, 2-3 cm in diameter, yellow or greenish-white, pubescent, sour.
