    Averrhoa carambola flowers are small, slightly fragrant, several to many flowers form a polyumbel or panicle, emerging from the leaf axils or on branches, the branches and buds are crimson, sepals 5, about 5 mm long, shingle-like, the base is composed into a fine cup, the petals are slightly curved to the back, 8-10 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, pale purplish red on the back, the margins are lighter, the seeds are black-brown, the flowering period is 4-12 months, and the fruiting period is 7-12 months.
