  • Introduction
    Lablab purpureus is almost glabrous, with stems up to 6 meters long and often lavender. racemes erect, 15-25 cm long, inflorescence axis stout, pedicels 8-14 cm long, bracts 2, nearly round, 3 mm long, shed, flowers 2 to more than 2 clusters on each node, seeds 3-5, flattened, oblong, white in white-flowered varieties and purple-black in purple-flowered varieties, seed umbilicus linear, about 2/5 long around the seed. Flowering period is from April to December.
