Dendrobium catenatum / Chained Dendrobium / 铁皮石斛

  • Introduction
    Dendrobium catenatum grows at altitudes of 300-1200 meters above sea level in mountain forests on tree trunks or on valley rock faces. Stems erect or drooping, somewhat fleshy, finely cylindrical, 20-25 (-50) cm long, 3-7 mm thick, unbranched, with many nodes, internodes 2-4 cm long, pale yellow when dry. The racemes emerge from the upper part of the leafy or deciduous old stem, usually with 2-5 flowers, petals oblong, 1.4-1.6 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, apex acute, with 5-7 veins
