Origanum majorana / Marjoram / 甘牛至

  • Introduction
    Origanum majorana prefers cool climates, but is less cold-tolerant. Prefers fertile, well-drained sandy loam or deep loam, preferably neutral to alkaline soil. Perennial herb. It is about 35-65 cm high, the stem is erect, prismatic or square, grass green. Shallow root system, main and lateral roots are not obvious. Leaves opposite, petiolate, obovate to broadly elliptic, 0.6-2.5 cm long, apex broadly obtuse, entire margin shiny, hairy. The inflorescence is conical, the spikelets are oblong, 3-5 in clusters, the seeds are long, elliptic, smooth, black-brown.
