  • Introduction
    Cuscuta australis stems winding, golden yellow, slender, about 1 mm in diameter, leafless. Inflorescences lateral, few or many clusters produce small umbels or clusters of umbels, total peduncles nearly absent, bracts and bracts small, scale-like, peduncles slightly stout, 1-2.5 mm long, calyx cup-shaped, base commisal, lobes 3-4-5, oblong or nearly round, usually unequal, about 0.8-1.8 mm long, apex rounded. Capsule oblate spherical, 3-4 mm in diameter, the lower half is covered by the corolla, irregularly dehiscence when ripe, not circumferential. It usually has 4 seeds, light brown, ovate, about 1.5 mm long, rough surface, flowering and fruiting period from June to August.
