Hibiscus syriacus / Rose of sharon / 木槿

  • Introduction
    Hibiscus syriacus is a deciduous shrub, 3-4 m high, with branchlets densely covered with yellow stellate hairs. The flowers are solitary in the axils of the leaves at the end of the branches, the peduncle is 4-14 mm long, covered with short stellate hairs, the flowers are bell-shaped, the color is pure white, light pink, light purple, purple-red, etc., the capsule is oval, about 12 mm in diameter, densely covered with yellow stellate hairs, the seeds are kidney-shaped, the mature seeds are black-brown, and the back is covered with yellowish-white pubescence. Flowering period is from July to October.
