  • Introduction
    Asparagus officinalis root thickness 2-3 mm. The stems are smooth, the upper part often droops in the later stages, and the branches are weaker. Leaf-like branches in clusters every 3-6, nearly flattened cylindrical, slightly obtuse, slender, often slightly curved, 5-30 mm long, 0.3-0.5 mm thick; Flowers per 1-4 axillary, greenish-yellow, peduncle 8-12 (-14) mm long, joints located in the upper or near middle, male flowers: perianth 5-6 mm long, filaments attached to the tepal below the middle, female flowers smaller, perianth about 3 mm long. The berries are 7-8 mm in diameter, red when ripe, and have 2-3 seeds.
