  • Introduction
    Gardenia jasminoides prefers warm and humid climates, is more drought tolerant, and avoids stagnant water. It is suitable for growing in loose, fertile, well-drained, lightly cohesive acidic soils. Twigs are often short-haired, cylindrical, gray. The flowers are aromatic, usually single at the top of the branches, the peduncle is 3-5 mm long, the fruit is ovate, nearly spherical, oval or oblong, yellow or orange-red, 1.5-7 cm long, 1.2-2 cm in diameter, flowering from March to July, fruiting from May to February of the following year.
