  • Introduction
    Arctium lappa has thick, fleshy straight roots, up to 15 cm long and up to 2 cm in diameter, with branched roots. Stems erect, up to 2 m high, stout, base up to 2 cm in diameter, usually purplish-red or pale purplish-red, basal leaves broadly ovate, up to 30 cm long, up to 21 cm wide, sparsely sparsely wavy concave or cusp at the edges, heart-shaped at the base, petioles up to 32 cm long, heterochromatic on both sides, green above, with sparse short rough hairs and small yellow glandular points, grayish-white or pale green below, covered with thin villi or sparse villi, with small yellow glandular points, petioles grayish-white, flowering and fruiting period from June to September.
