Introduction
Diospyros lotus can reach up to 30 m in height and 1.3 m in diameter at breast height, crown nearly spherical or oblate-spherical, bark grayish-black or grayish-brown, branchlets brown or brown, smooth or yellowish-gray pubescence, leaves oval to oblong-elliptic, flowers red or pale yellow, fruit nearly spherical or oval, blue-black when ripe, often with a thin white wax layer.
