  • Introduction
    Panax notoginseng prefers warm, shaded and humid environments, is afraid of severe cold and heat, and is also afraid of water. Perennial erect herb, 20-60 cm tall. The taproot is fleshy, 1 to many, spindle-shaped. The stem is dark green, purple-turning at the tip of the stem, smooth and glabrous, with coarse longitudinal stripes. Finger-like compound leaves 3-6 whorls at the top of the stem, mostly peduncles, clustered, linear, less than 2 mm long, petioles 5-11.5 cm long, striped, smooth glabrous umbel solitary at the top of the stem, with 80-100 flowers or more, total peduncle 7-25 cm long, striped, glabrous or sparsely pubescent, flowering in July-August, fruiting in August-October.
