  • Introduction
    Catharanthus roseus is slightly branched, up to 60 cm high, watery, glabrous or only slightly hairy, stems nearly square, striped, grayish-green, internodes 1-3.5 cm long. Leaves membranous, obovate-oblong, 3-4 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, inflorescences axillary or apical, with 2-3 flowers, calyx 5 deeply lobed, no glands or glands inconspicuous on the inner surface, sepals lanceolate or drill-shaped, about 3 mm long. The exocarp is thick papery, striped, pubescent, and the seeds are black, oblong-cylindrical, truncated at both ends, with granular nodules. The flowering and fruiting period is almost all year round.
