Vaccinium macrocarpon / American cranberry / 蔓越莓

  • Introduction
    Vaccinium macrocarpon generally prefers a cool environment, and its soil requirements are quite different from other fruits, preferring acidic soils. It is an evergreen dwarf shrub with rounded or obovate leaves, white or reddish bell-shaped flowers, and spherical purplish-red berries. The height of the plant is 5~20 cm, and the vine-like branches spread about 2m. The flowering period of cranberries is in September~October, and the fruiting period is from November to August of the following year.
