  • Introduction
    Prunus dulcis branches erect or flattened, thornless, with many short branches, glabrous when young, annual branches light brown, perennial branches grayish-brown to grayish-black, almonds solitary, preceding leaf opening, born on short or annual branches. The flesh is thin, dehisced when ripe, the nucleus is ovate, broadly elliptic or short oblong, the kernel shell is hard, the almond fruit is obliquely ovate or oblong-ovate, flattened, 3~4.3 cm long, 2~3 cm in diameter, the flowering period is 3~4 months, and the fruiting period is 7~8 months.
