    Musa itinerans is the landmark 24,200th plant species saved at Kew Gardens' Millennium Seed Bank Project.The endangered M. itinerans is native to China and is an important food for wild Asian elephants.It is wild bananas. It can withstand seasonal frost and snow, which it faces each winter in the northern portions of its range.Plant normal, suckering close to parent plant 10-30 cm, to 12 suckers, position vertical; mature pseudostem to 4 m high, to 15 cm diam.
