(July 12, 2025) The Nymphaeaceae species page has been significantly enhanced! It now
features a detailed evolutionary tree as the default view, incorporating several new genera like
Euryale, Nuphar, and Brasenia. The page now provides a more
comprehensive phylogenetic context for water lilies.
(July 10, 2025) Data for the giant waterlily, Victoria cruziana, is now fully
integrated into our search and download tools. The main species phylogenetic tree has also received a
major visual and functional overhaul for a more intuitive user experience.
(July 12, 2025) The Nymphaeaceae species page has been significantly enhanced! It now
features a detailed evolutionary tree as the default view, incorporating several new genera like
Euryale, Nuphar, and Brasenia. The page now provides a more

(July 10, 2025) We've expanded our dataset for Nymphaeaceae! The giant waterlily,

visual
and functional overhaul. The layout now features improved node alignment and spacing for better

caryophyllus,
Jasminum sambac, Nelumbo nucifera, Nymphaea tetragona, and

(May 01, 2024) Foundational bioinformatics tool "JBrowse" has been integrated, providing
interactive and user-friendly genome visualization capabilities for all hosted species.
(March 15, 2024) We're excited to announce the completion of the primary data acquisition
phase
for
the Flower Biology module, covering core information on flower color, scent, and structure.
(February 28, 2024) First wave of curated datasets from public repositories (NCBI, EBI) for
10
priority species successfully integrated into the FlowerBase pre-release database.
(January 20, 2024) Initial data collection for our foundational set of ornamental plant
species
is
now complete, establishing the core dataset for FlowerBase.
(December 10, 2023) Core Database Architecture Finalized! The foundational schema for FlowerBase is
complete, designed to support the massive integration of genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic
data.
(November 5, 2023) Development of Core Bioinformatics Tools Begins. Work has started on essential
tools for the platform, including Gene Search and BLAST integration, laying the groundwork for our
analytical capabilities.
(October 15, 2023) Initial Data Curation Underway. Our team has begun the critical process of
curating and standardizing datasets for our first set of priority species, ensuring data quality and
consistency.
(September 1, 2023) FlowerBase Project Officially Launched! We are excited to announce the start of
the FlowerBase project, an ambitious initiative to build a world-class resource for ornamental
plant genomics and breeding.
